Did you know he has phone conversations with world leaders, in his residence, ALONE?!

No one knows what the hell he's saying. Those he's talking to can claim anything... makes him MORE vulnerable!

they should make sure they create a rule defining the narrow circumstances which make it possible.

These would be things like: the president is under suspicion of high crimes and misdemeanours; the president has concealed or destroyed all other documentation; the meeting was with a hostile foreign actor; and so on.

You don't want interpreters to become liabilities for normal presidents.
