Surprised? Of course not. It's an NPR story. NPR always carries poorly reported stories. Where, for instance, are these "Areas"? NPR doesn't say. Were the places with higher "bullying" also places with higher recent influxes of illegal aliens? NPR does not say. Did the "Areas" have exceptionally low bullying in the years prior to 2017? NPR doesn't say. Was the bullying against Minorities or against the Majority? NPR does not say. Was there actually MORE bullying or were students just more inclined to call things bullying than they had previously been inclined to do? NPR does not say. Were the questions identical in 2017 compared to those asked in 2015? NPR does not say.

Given that public schools are exceedingly liberal institutions and that Trump supporters are despised by liberals, I wouldn't be surprised at all if the bullying of students who admitted that their parents supported Trump might have increased. NPR's story isn't thorough enough for us to know if that's what actually happened, though.

Lame story. Can't draw any conclusions from it except that NPR sucks.
