From Trump and Pence's point of view, if you say you're FOR border security then you MUST be for building a wall. They've gotten to the point where they've convinced themselves that without a wall, border security is impossible. Also, if you listen to Pence closely, he seems to imply that once the wall is built, we won't need to have any border patrol agents manning the border itself. After all, if we have 30-foot high walls, why would we think that anyone could possibly still get in?
