I am afraid a message of love isn't so useful a tool for every situation.
Sometimes you want something more like honest, evidence-based policy-making.
It's a spectrum issue and the pope, nice chap though he is, is on the wrong one.
If we get honest, evidence-based policy-making, love may follow tangentially. Until then, I diagnose the problem as the failure of truth and reason and the assertions of power and greed as what we need the opposite of.
Love ain't it. But of course we should be as kind as we can be to one another, as ever.
