To be fair to her, she has been doing a job within the government so will have learned some of the ropes.

I think the presidency should only really be a position taken from amongst governors (current and former), the speaker, the leader of the senate and the people topping the various legislative committees.

But for other roles, I don't think the same rules necessarily apply. People bring different experiences to the table. It may [but also may not] be fair to tar Nauert with a Fox brush.

Apparently, these are the only folks willing to work for him...

BREAKING: Trump expected to announce State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert as his pick for next U.S. ambassador to the United Nations

Nauert, a former "Fox & Friends" anchor, has been State Department spokeswoman since April 2017. If confirmed by the Senate, she would replace outgoing U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley, who announced in October that she would resign at the end of the year.
