They say they had lost track of him but finally found someone who had his phone number and when they called it and realized that they had gotten the office of the chief-of-staff to the Attorney General they at first thought it was a joke. After all, how could a person who was under investigation by the FTC and the FBI ever get a job at the Justice Department let alone in the office the Attorney General. In fact, it was first passed around the offices at the FTC as an email/text message joke until it was verified that yes indeed, the crook that they had been looking for was right there in Washington, D.C. on the federal payroll.
