It was also reported that six off-duty police officers were in the bar at the time of the shooting and were not able to stop the shooter. Also, the first person he took out when he entered the bar was the security guard and one of the dead was an on-duty, armed police officer, who responded to the scene. So when Trump and others on the Right start to suggest that if people want to protect bar patrons, perhaps they should hire armed security guards, they should be reminded of this.
