and now their plan is to CUT benefits for the poor & middle class!

SCREW them!
Raise taxes on the rich, take the cap off social security, let the rich contribute all year, its the least they can do.
Put a tax on folks day trading in the stock market, they aren't contributing anything, they are sucking the cream off & leaving skim milk for the rest.

... and no, I am not going to wait for some imaginary future in which it might do one day. In the long run, we are all dead.

The economy has produced exactly what everyone who cares about reality predicted. It has enlarged the deficit and put money in the pockets of the wealthy. It didn't promote any obvious additional signs of growth. It just produced a diminished income and a bit more inflation.
