Fischer faced pressure to resign after emailing photos of his Africa hunting exploits to at least 100 people. He was also seen posing with a dead giraffe and a dead leopard.
"So I shot a whole family of baboons," he wrote in the email.
He initially defended his actions by saying he did nothing illegal, but former Fish and Game commissioners criticized the photos. Fred Trevey urged Fischer to resign and Keith Stonebraker said that the hunter's behavior was "revolting," according to the Idaho Statesman.
