There's the obvious issue that they just confirmed a liar after a sham investigation.
I want to also add that MeToo doesn't always help, as clearly Republicans are concerned by the notion that women accusers can wreck a person's reputation while lying.
K was the wrong person for that argument. But I take (and have made) the point. There are women who lie for money as well as men who cross the line. The public accusations are kinda vile. Except of course where the accused did the bad thing. But that ought to be a matter for sensible laws to treat.
