Zephyr Teachout, AG candidate, expecting first child
The former Dem gubernatorial candidate would be due about a month after the primary
ALBANY — Democrat Zephyr Teachout, who recently announced she has entered the field to run for state attorney general, announced Saturday that she is expecting her first child.
Teachout, 46, tweeted "Nick and I have some exciting news!" and posted a link to a story in the New York Daily News. Teachout married Nick Juliusburger, a software executive, in 2016.
"As more women run for office in their 20s, 30s and 40s, you're going to see a lot more women breastfeeding and parenting," she told the Daily News. "I think it's a real watershed moment. We're in a moment where we're redefining what leadership looks like."
Teachout is due in October.
