Cop Racially Taunted Girl, 11, Before Tasing Her at Store
A Cincinnati cop who tased an alleged 11-year-old black shoplifter told her, “You know, sweetheart, this is why there’s no grocery stores in the black community.” The comment was caught on Officer Kevin Brown’s body-camera, although a report found that Brown violated procedures by not turning on his body camera until after he deployed his taser and not warning the girl he was going to use his taser. Brown’s comments and actions have been defended by the local police union. Brown’s punishment is up to the local police chief and could range from counseling to termination. Police say clothing, food, and drinks worth $53.81 were found in the girl’s backpack.
