Great area, we've chased around the Southwest for years, attended fairs/pow-wows, at times enjoyed the cites, but also the back country, Anasazi ruins, or just visiting the narrow canyons, or whatever we came across... We collected a few small pots, rugs, signed by some of the known families, some not so well known.. BIL and his wife were more serious, into the hundreds of thousands, and a total uninsured loss in the firestorm out here last year. We recovered a few pots, one bronze art piece, but the rest, up in smoke..

Our plan was to do another trip this year, but my wife foot surgery canceled that...

So much history, so much beauty.. One nephew is working with a film company, promoting the Moab area, they've gotten way off the beaten track, beautiful locations, some drone flights to get into areas we'd normally never see...

Enjoy! Chase down the fry bread, lamb stews, local foods are great!

Albuquerque, then Durango CO, and now in Santa Fe, experiencing America at its best. Been here before, some years ago, but these places have flourished.

I’d love to let NY go and move here for summers. What a place, intelligent people, the natives are amazing artists, the food is out of this world, and the weather beyond perfection.

They are shooting an episode or redoing the movie Rosswell here now, and an Indian security guard noticed a Santo Domingo turquoise necklace I bought, and we struck a conversation that lasted a half hour, about all things, languages spoken, his family, was impressed from where I come from, and finally the ...weather. He said it has changed drastically, especially lack of water, and plantng seasons have changed. I wish assholes at large would have such encounters and listen to people who know that things are happening and they are not good. He said there was so much snow in winter, the rivers twice as wide, so much more water, etc...

In Durango, they can’t do rafting this year. You can walk across the Animas river as if it is a creek.

Anyway, I bought a beautiful handmade knife from a real American, an old guy in Chama NM, who makes knifes and other stuff from old tools, and they are amazing. His place is something to see. The knife I bought he wanted to show me how sharp it was and how durable, so he cut through elk bone with it, and the edge had no signs of that, then he tried to shave his arm hair and thought it hadn’t been sharp enough, so we went to his shop next ...shack, and he worked on it for 10 minutes, then tried it again, and that area of his arm looked like a baby’s ass.

Anyway, that’s the America I love, and Donald Trump is a piece of shit I want nothing to do with. Hope he’s gone ASAP.

P.S. I will send the picture of tne guy to clo to post on the header because IT IS AMERICA.
