Romans 7:9-13 [KJV]
For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.
For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I.
If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good.
Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.
For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.
Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me.
For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:
But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.
O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?
I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.
WE will always sin. Even those like the Apostle Paul according to GOD had to confess and forsake and seek forgiveness daily from The Lord for his sins. Even though a person trusts Christ as Savior, does not mean they will stop sinning. It means that they now have life eternally with God, and their Spirit has been made alive, and is no longer dead tot he things of God. YOU STILL SIN against GOD. Paul did. It drove him crazy! O wretched man that I am!!!! His exasperation is evident.
Did he want to sin against the Lord? NO !!! But as long as we are in a mortal body made of flesh, and have this sin nature we got from ADAM, we will continue to sin and never reach or attain sinless perfection.
Oh, we are presented before GOD by our Mediator Jesus Christ BLAMELESS, HIM having paid our sin debt, but HE does not claim that we have been sinless. IF we were, then HE would never have had to endure the Cross.
Let me say readers, that just because WE ARE FORGIVEN if we confess our sins to HIM, does not mean we have a license to go do every sinful thing we can dream of.. THAT is not what happens when someone becomes a new creation in Christ Jesus.
YOU WANT or should have a DESIRE to PLEASE HIM, to SERVE HIM by doing those things HE has shown us to do IN HIS WORD.
We are to try to be MORE LIKE CHRIST, and LESS like our old sinful selves who served the lusts of the flesh and our daddy the Devil... Make no mistake, SATAN does not like it when someone turns to Jesus. He is called The Destroyer for a reason. He wanted to SIFT PETER.
Keep your eyes on Christ and your desires set on things above. ETERNITY is coming for ALL of US. It is a long time.. This world is very short time compared to that. STAY focused on the long term and being prepared to meet Jesus face to face and hear HIM say, "Well done thou good and faithful servant. Enter into the Joy of Thy Lord" !
Amen! I can't wait to see HIM and praise HIM and Love HIM face to face.... What a day that will be!
