from Romans we read:

Romans 7:9-13

For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died.

And the commandment, which was ordained to life, I found to be unto death.

For sin, taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it slew me.

Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good.

Was then that which is good made death unto me? God forbid. But sin, that it might appear sin, working death in me by that which is good; that sin by the commandment might become exceeding sinful.

WHEN one has been born again and received the Holy Spirit of God and is indwelt by HIM, you are made alive unto Spiritual things and consequently, you are made very much aware of the lifelong struggle between SIN and Righteousness, which reigns and wars in our bodies. Sin dies not like the LIGHT of GOD. Darkness does not like LIGHT.

THOSE who make an evil livelihood stealing from others or breaking into stores our houses do so IN THE DARKNESS so that they cannot be seen. SIN hates LIGHT.

And so, the struggle against giving into SIN in the life of a believer rages on as described by the great Apostle Paul......
