Be not MANY MASTERS.... The GREAT APOSTLE JAMES is telling all those who were just itching to be somebody, to be a TEACHER and LEADER of GOD's people, thinking that the position was somehow going to exalt them to status, do;t be so quick and so many to take on THIS grave responsibility. GOD does not take it lightly. In FACT, GOD says that those in authority over the flock are held to a much higher level of accountability BY GOD and TO GOD. MANY want to "TEACH" the Sunday School class who are in fact in need of being taught themselves, starting with humility and followed by studies in doctrines before thinking t themselves that they somehow are a natural born leader.
Maybe in the Secular world that is true. But not in the CHURCH.... GOD looks UPON THE HEARTS of ALL. HE LOVES those who are poor in Spirit. Those who do not think themselves to better than all around them.
Here, The great PASTOR of the Jerusalem Church is warning to not be in such a hurry to be a MASTER or LEADER, in the CHURCH. GOD HIMSELF will choose you. Be slow to speak and KEEN to HEAR and to Learn from those who are AGED in The WORD of God..
Don't want the spotlight to be on YOU . You are a Teacher for the wrong reason and GOD will hold you accountable for that SIN of PRIDE. IT goeth before a FALL..
