8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.
9 Let the brother of low degree rejoice in that he is exalted:
JAMES points out that a double minded man is UNSTABLE. Not just in the one thing that he may demonstrate at a particular time. But in ALL things. IF you are double minded about one thing, you will be that same way in all things.
Our LORD loved the poor, (brother of low degree or stature or standing), because they know and realize they have nothing of their own and realize that their blessings come from their Lord. They have pure faith and are not "self reliant".
Self reliance has been one of the largest reasons people die in their sins and go to hell for eternity because they believe they are self made and do not need anyone else's help. Their egos get gigantic. They think they know everything and can do everything on their own.
THAT is a TRAP of SATAN. It is okay to be blessed and accumulate some wealth. JOB did.
Job also worshiped GOD and KNEW that HIS ABUNDANCE came from GOD and HE praised and THANKED GOD for his blessings every single day.... So did Abraham! So you can be blessed if you are a faithful and good steward of the things that GOD allows to come into your life....
