At this point, I think the US is irredeemably divided.
I know you seem to find the question difficult to engage with, clo, but why keep the US together when so many of its people are unliveable with.
I'd be splitting the country yesterday. Let Jesusland live its miserable way and have everyone else live like normal people everywhere. The United States is so backwards. It fights over stuff no one else does for no reason at all, as far as I can see.
Guns? The solution is obvious. Far fewer of them.
Abortion? Personal freedom trumps some dumb Christian man pretending he cares about a woman's children (when we have now seen how little they actually care).
Size of government? Whatever is efficient, not "small!" or "big!".
Trade? That's a good thing.
Protectionism? That's a stoopid thing.
Immigration? Start from the reality that Mexicans aren't pouring in, and most of those who do come do seasonal farm labour that no one else wishes to do.
