EXCLUSIVE: News outlets can pay thousands for some highly stylized photos of Melania Trump and her family. But only if they are writing a "positive story."
First lady Melania Trump's deal with a photo agency — which has brought the first family at least $100,000 in revenue — came with an unusual twist: The pictures of her and other Trump family members could only be used in "positive stories."
At least a dozen news organizations, including magazines like Marie Claire and House Beautiful, have used the highly stylized family portraits.
But after NBC News asked them about the special provision, several news outlets removed the photos from their websites.
