Of course. Trump is at war with the truth, and winning amongst the sorts of folks who know little about this sort of stuff (they know lots about other stuff, so I am not saying they are stoopid).
Some folks believe that:
lowering taxes increases government revenue (only true at very high tax rates) rather than raising the deficit (what was predicted and what is happening);
hyperinflation was going to follow the 2008 crash (whereas the big issue was deflation);
the US will win a trade war with the rest of the world without damaging itself in the process;
and so on.
It's the same quality of thinking as led to the Iraq war. The same folks voted for Bush, then disavowed him once the results of his policies became manifest.
But they were the policies they wanted and that he pursued. They didn't work then and they don't work now.
