The image he uses doesn't get him there. As an absolutist, only being compassionate about all children will relieve him of the burden of his wicked stance.
The advice of Christian leaders ought to persuade him, but it won't because he is a cult-follower of a sociopath these days.
But really, you don't need Christianity to figure this one out. Don't hold children's happiness and sense of security hostage. It's simple. Only a soulless thug would think anything else.
