A young Dutch inventor has a $360 million plan to clean plastic from the ocean
Plastic is piling up in the world's oceans, and all those straws and shopping bags are endangering sealife. Boyan Slat, a 23-year-old inventor, is determined to help. He's in the final stages of developing an experimental device that would clean the ocean by using currents to trap plastic. Some scientists are skeptical, but Slat is determined to prove them wrong.
“Human history,” he has said, “is a long list of things that were impossible and then that were done.”
