The best outcome is that the rest of the world simply treats Trump as an isolated case of lunacy.

The trouble is, the Republican voters have brought us both Dubya the torturer and Trump the dunce. So we know they have something wrong in the head.

Not that I dislike Dubya. I thought he was getting better towards the end, even though he took the financial world down in flames. And he was an honest guy.

But Trump is in a different category. At some point, when it is obvious even to GoP voters that things have gone wrong, they will start telling us they never really supported the guy. Just like with Dubya. But the bad policies produce the results.

It doesn't matter. His gullible supporters will believe this was something, even as Japan and South Korea begin to look elsewhere for alliances. Actually, scratch that. After the G7 and the Kim meeting, all of America's allies are going to know that the US is no longer a friend. Trump is a catastrophe for America.
