Yes, but the courts are strong and widely populated by principled people.

I may not like the way the GoP has been staffing the Supreme Court with right wingers, but they are not stupid, corrupt right wingers. And they don't need to concern themselves with reelection. So I think they will draw a sensible, constitutional line which the president may not cross.

If he overrides the Supreme Court, then there will be a different kind of fight, and I don't think Trump will win it. So ultimately he can do immense damage, but he will end up in jail.

The US will be spending the next generation repairing the damage he has done to the country's standing. This will require major constitutional revisions to define the limits of presidential power. Hopefully, it will also lead to the death of this Republican Party which is so horribly deficient in every way.
