This has got to be the most outrageous statement ever uttered in Washington when DeVos responded to a question about what the commission was going to look at stated, "...it's not part of the commission to look at the role of firearms as it relates to gun violence." She acts as if everyone knows that just because an act of gun violence occurred, that that's NO reason to suspect that firearms were involved so trying to link the two would be a waste of time and resources.

The secretary of education said the commission is not charged with focusing on firearms.
