Asking Putin to release a political opponent's emails. Obstructing justice. Insulting allies. Generating emoluments for yourself in negotiating with other countries. Using a bone spur as an excuse to avoid military service...
Some things demonstrate self-absorption and a material lack of patriotism.
Others a means of expressing care for fellow citizens.
Only those expressing the latter sentiment can with decency and respect wrap a flag around themselves. But the former, in the corrupt figure of Donald Trump, reliably portray themselves doing so.
Trump's use of the flag, of course, makes his character seem even smaller and more cynical. Someone should make a flag which burns the insincere when they wrap themselves in it.
