It's really astonishing that almost the entire Republican intelligentsia has abandoned the party under Trump.

Basically, Putin, talk radio and Fox News won the right-of-centre war, and have given the world its first American tyrant as president.

It's a shame the US was unable to strengthen its constitution in the early 2000s when it was obvious it had gone awry. On the other hand, the reason it had gone awry was because US Republican culture had also lost its moorings in the 1990s.

This is the modern version of the story of Rome. Only with worse implications. What a sad thing to behold.

I used to believe you that you care about abortions. But as I said, you don't get to pretend you care about children any more.

I don't think it's condescension. But if it is, too bad. I think many current Republican beliefs are evil and hypocritical. I think this as do many people who used to support your party.

Give me Jennifer Rubin or George Will or David Frum or Max Boot or Bret Stephens or Steve Schmidt or Joe Scarborough or Michelle Wallace or John Kasich or Bill Kristol or David Brooks or John Podhoretz or Michael Hayden or John Brennan or Jim Comey or Richard Painter and I merely disagree with them on many policies. Trump, on the other hand, is corrupt, immoral and disgusting.

You inhabit the realm beyond the rule of law, ethics and polite differences, where children are separated from their parents by presidential fiat. I find the things you believe repellant and America under Trump vile.
