Zim : The folk at Newsweek are about as stupid as they
come. In their 'article' they listed five reasons why
Trump canceled the summit . . . None of which addressed
what I feel is the real reason - N. Korea, which had
sounded like they were ready to de-nuclearize the
Korean peninsula, proclaimed that they were not going
to give up their nukes.

Trump's announcement came just as foreign journalists observed the demolition of North Korea's Punggye-ri Nuclear Test Site, a gesture intended to prove that Kim was serious about denuclearization talks and moving closer toward his stated goal of eventually reuniting with U.S.-backed South Korea. Trump's surprise cancellation of the first-ever face-to-face talks between a sitting U.S. president and North Korean supreme leader, set for June 12 in Singapore, may be a huge step back for elusive peace on the Korean Peninsula.

SEOUL — North Korea is rapidly moving the goal posts for next month’s summit between leader Kim Jong Un and President Trump, saying the United States must stop insisting that the North “unilaterally” abandon its nuclear weapons program and stop talking about a Libya-style solution to the standoff.

The latest warning, delivered by former North Korean nuclear negotiator Kim Gye Gwan on Wednesday, fits Pyongyang’s well-established pattern of raising the stakes in negotiations by threatening to walk out if it doesn’t get its way.
