Aw, hell ... there were tons of guns in our high school parking lot. Most every pickup had an occupied gun rack in the back window.

Times have changed ... drastically ... for the worse.

A few years back, there was a high school kid in a Dallas suburb who got suspended and sent to "alternative school" simply because someone saw an 8" bread knife in the bed of his pickup in the school parking lot. It was a Monday and this kid had been helping his grandmother move on Sunday ... and it was her bread knife that had fallen out of a box.

I hate how quick a lot of folks are to sue in our country, but if he was my son, I would have sued the HELL out of that school district.

A couple of stray thoughts on this subject.

Way back in the 1960's (and probably before that)
Kid's would often have guns at school. Several
old timers I know have told stories along the lines
of 'We was rabbit hunting before school.' . . .
Or the kid would drive to school and say "Hey Coach,
Daddy bought me a new shot gun. Wanna see it?"
And school shootings was unheard of back then.

Today?
Where the liberals scream "This is a GUN-Free zone.
It's safe !" . . .
But the crazies hear "This is a place where I don't
have to worry about anybody shooting me whilst I
slaughter as many idiots as I please."

Zim.
