We differ at a quite a fundamental level here. I think it is conservative to treat a president as subject to the rule of law. This is the inheritance of the US. It would be a novelty to act otherwise.

The person in the seat is separable from the office of the presidency.

They say Mueller is 'conservative' and would probably hold a sealed indictment, for when Trump is out of office.

I'm with you, if there is 'cause' he should face a trial when that cause is known.
