So following the Iran Treaty withdrawal, the Germans now see Trump as a presidency to survive, not as a partner or sharer in values.

It is incredible how lacking in insight this president is. As they rightly observe, he has only one real ambition beyond the wall (which wasn't his anyway) and that is to destroy the things Obama constructed.

So there's the destructive party and the constructive party in US politics. Conservative is a misnomer.
