I think the raid on Cohen means we have reached the time of reckoning. They will have expected the reaction. This was the first high profile action in the Trump investigation. They probably waited as long as possible before making their move.
I wonder if Rosenstein got Grassley on side before the raid. They must have some serious evidence against Cohen to proceed. And for Grassley to describe interference in the investigation as suicide, it sounds like he was prepared in advance.
Mueller is spinning off investigations as he goes along. Who knows? There may be others in the works. Trump is clearly a career bad actor and could probably keep a large chunk of the FBI busy single-handed.
