Since I imagine the political playing field is going to move dramatically egalitarian after Trump has moved it towards authoritarianism and plutocracy ... I shall get my explaining in early.

1. I am not a socialist and don't think equality is a worthwhile aim. Folks who work hard and apply imagination to their jobs should do better than those who don't.

2. I am also against gross inequality. The excessive tilt in favour of extremely wealthy people concerns me.

3. My aim is for a society to reach a less unequal, less exponential curve than currently exists, without desiring the opposite extreme of a level one. ie I still think a curve makes sense, which expresses the advantage of people who work hard and have ideas over those who don't work hard and take no risks. If the ratio of a very high income to the average was 10 or even 30 to 1 I would not be troubled. At 1000 or 100 to 1 I am troubled; and 1 to 1 only results from coercion.
