Andrew McCabe Launches Legal Defense Fund
Former FBI deputy director Andrew McCabe is raising money for a legal defense fund through an official GoFundMe campaign. The page, which was created by "Friends of Andrew McCabe," seeks to raise $150,000.
“Andrew McCabe’s FBI career was long, distinguished, and unblemished,” the page reads. “His reward for that has been a termination that was completely unjustified, amidst repeated ad hominem attacks by the President of the United States.” The page states that the fund will go towards congressional hearings he may have to face, an inspector general investigation, and “any potential lawsuits he might consider.”
The money will not be used for “anything beyond his defense of the allegations against him,” and any remaining funds will be donated to “charitable organizations of the McCabes’ choosing.” The page also states that McCabe’s legal team will be led by former Department of Justice Inspector General Michael R. Bromwich.
