Yep. He has either hired a catastrophically stupid attorney, or he is throwing himself under the bus so that Trump can say "I had no idea my attorney was doing this crazy stuff."

The thing I still find puzzling is her motive. What is she hoping to gain?

If she's being vindictive, which appears to be part of things whether one thinks it's justified or not, I don't see the end game.

Is she wanting a much larger payout? Her attorney seems like the sort of guy who has big ticket interests. And maybe she likes the idea too.

But if so, why should I care?

The reason I am interested isn't that he had an affair. It sounds like he has likely had several of them. It is because it shows the thuggish way Trump and his attorney behave. But I don't know if this is the reason she wants to tell her story.

@rezaaslan

If you thought Trump’s lawyers were idiots.... Trump’s lawyers’ lawyers are even more stupid. He’s going to get his client disbarred.

Schwartz should read New York Rule of Professional Conduct 1.8(e), which prohibits lawyers from “provid[ing] financial assistance to a client in connection with pending or contemplated litigation.”
