...I am always impressed when a 16 year old pauses in their busy day of video games to share their life experiences.

Liberals are like a "Slinky". Totally useless, but somehow ya can't help but smile when you see one tumble down a flight of stairs!

Re: "The young people marching & sharing their experiences are AMAZING! They know in order to create change they need to register to vote. I'm heartened to watch their passion & commitment. "

Oh, clo. Change for change's sake is NOT a wise move. Unfortunately, you forsook thinking things through long ago and signed on with mob mentality. I guess you found that easier. But haven't you learned anything from it?

Firearms are like poison. They can be abused, but they also yield tremendous benefits. If you haven't seriously considered those benefits before deciding that you want everyone to lose one of their freedoms, then you haven't thought the matter through and can't possibly know if you're doing the right thing. That's disturbing. If you succeed in what you're attempting and manage to have guns outlawed, then the chief deterrent to tyranny in this country will be gone.

Look, your reaction to John Bolton being selected to head the NSA was "Oh no." If you actually know something about the man and weren't just reacting to the fact that he's a right winger, then guess what? You were RIGHT in your response. John Bolton is a RINO Republican, and a huge threat to peace. He's about as "Deep State" as they get. He scares the crap out of me. He's a war hawk and, along with a White House that is now ovepopulated with military types, his selection could set the stage for a nightmarish coup.

*BUT* I don't really think that will happen - because Americans still have an ability to fight back.

If you don't get the 2nd Amendment, if you don't get that it really matters, then I feel sorry for you. Ignorance will not keep you from being harmed. The government isn't your friend. It is an unthinking, very power tool that, in the wrong hands, could snuff you out like a bug. However, the Constitution has kept it in check, more or less, for almost 250 years and will continue to do so if it isn't relegated obsolete by people like you.

If you want to eliminate an important freedom you're so lucky as to have, then I guess that's your right. But do us all a favor first, and at least try to THINK before you pursue that goal. Weakening the 2nd Amendment isn't a party game. You won't go home after having played it and find that your life is still the same. Eliminating it will have far-reaching consequences that are obviously more terrible than you know.

By the way, you were a kid once. How have the arbitrary changes YOUR generation introduced worked out for you? Is life good? Did the aspirations of the beautiful little girl you once were work out? Are you secure and prosperous in your old age? Do your children and your husband make you feel warm and loved? Are you optimistic about your future? Do you have friends who really care about you? Are you happy? Are you proud of yourself and what you've achieved?

I've learned quite a bit about you over the years, so I'm going to guess that your answer to most of these questions is NO. If that's true, then you of all people should be aware of the ways in which arbitrary change can go horribly wrong. I've seen what you looked like when you were young. You had all the advantages and should have been one of life's winners. I'm sure you know that. But, somehow, you introduced a ton of bad changes to your life and your promising future went swirling away, right down the toilet, forever out of reach.

Those were your own mistakes and not anyone else's fault. You've paid dearly for them.

It's too late for you to turn that around, but you really ought to share what you've learned, if you've learned. Change can be good or bad. Bad moves have bad consequences. And if you still don't get that, you need to seriously consider the quote below - which may or may not have been originated by Albert Einstein.
