Cambridge Analytica seems to be near the heart of the onion.
But they aren't all of it.
There's a much larger resource behind it, involving the manufacture of fake news, partisan negative comments etc. All designed to cause outrage, to mislead people and to make them distrust reliable sources of information.
Some naively fall for this kind of rubbish.
Hence the creation of class of conspiracy theorists out of people who were previously comprehensible, even when one disagreed with them. It's scary to see how effective it is and how the folks thus bamboozled actually become part of the contagion.
This is information warfare and a President who is partly a victim of it.
