He DOES have clearance. Got that? He does have clearance.
He's lost his top-secret clearance. That's not the same as having no clearance.
The reason he lost top-secret is because EVERY SINGLE ONE of the previously uncleared White House staff had their top-secret clearances revoked. Someone at the DOJ decided that it was inappropriate to have rushed them through.
Top-Secret clearances can take an incredibly long time to be approved. If the investigation starts now, it might not be done in a year. Some times it's faster, some times it's not. It's not a reflection on Jared Kushner; it's a reflection on how complex the top-secret clearance process is, especially for those who have traveled overseas in the last year. Even discounting Kushner's official government travel, I'm guessing that Kushner has traveled abroad.
