So, you generalize because of 3 people you’ve known, and assume what they were thinking. Devout muslims do not drink alcohol. That’s probably the reason he didn’t come. Furthermore, it is not a reason to label him. Maybe he didn’t like you.

As for the kid, maybe its father sensed who you really are, because even I wouldn’t want to socialize with you.

I have friends, Palestinians, well to do people, some born here, others came as kids, travelers, party goers, anazing halloween party makers, we get together often, go out, eat and drink, blah blah blah. I used to play soccer on Sunday mornings with a few of their cousins, and later found out. Never seen even a hint of anything else other than America, the melting pot. That’s “some” of tne muslims I know.

Got it?

Re: “They will have to show respect for us, if they come and live among us, but you have to remember that there are millions of them who actually are doing just that.”

If we have to remember this, then perhaps you could provide some examples. Honestly, I can't think of any ways in which Muslims show their respect for us.

Until last year, I lived in one of the most Islamic towns in America. Several of the 9-11 bombers spent their last night there.

My son played with a Muslim boy every day, right up until the boy turned 12 or 13. On that day - the day he became "a man," I assume - he was no longer allowed to associate with any of the neighborhood's non-Muslims.

I hired a Muslim security expert. He was a good worker and cordial enough, but he skipped all of the department luncheons and company events. I'm afraid I couldn't call him a friend.

Islamic terrorists have attacked both America and many other western countries. They haven't apologized. They may feel that THEY didn't do it so they don't need to apologize, but I also have never heard any prominent Muslim condemn the terrorists. When Muslims blow up or behead westerners, the best I've heard from supposedly "westernized" Muslims is silence. The worst I've heard is defense for the attacks.

That is the Islam that *I* know.
