Nothing wrong with you driving what you like zz.
VW makes some very good cars. My Uncle only drives Jettas. His son drives a VW CC. THe Jetta they buy has the diesel engine which is economical, but they pay more for the diesel. The PASSAT is a really well made mid-size sedan as well.

I can afford to buy whatever I want. That said, I also do not like throwing money away on transportation, because every auto depreciates and loses value and eventually goes to zero.... SO I also look at the financial long term and business sense.

But, I like your choices. As I have said many times long ago, I do not buy American made cars and have not since 1996. I got screwed my last time.....

SO bravo on your choice of VW and Audi !!! I like it!

Why am I a hypocrite?

I like cars that are of that caliber and heritage. I am very particular about many things, and know my stuff. I don’t like BMWs, for example. They are good cars, but I don’t like them. My dream car is an Audi R8. I am not “wealthy” in the sense that I would buy anything I want. Even if I were, I’d still buy the same cars I have now. Actually, I am looking to sell my GTI, and buy it’s finer ciusin, the Golf R, an all wheel drive German ricket, with all the electronics and common sense tech, that I think are at the top of their class, and I’ll keep it for hears.
