I agree with your take.

Paul Ryan's behavior is more shocking than Trump's.
Trump is a tyrant, a bully, a wannna be dictator.

Paul Ryan knows better! He & the other republicans have sold their soul(s) to the devil.

Its very distressing, many of us feel like we're dancing on the head of a pin, waiting for all the wheels to fall off.

I wasn't a GWB fan. That said I was able to sleep at night when he was in office.
and while Obama wasn't my first choice, I look back at the 8 years he served with such nostalgia for his grace & no drama.
If only Trump would disappear.... into the ether...

Hi clo,

We may mean different things by the rule of law. For me, the rule of law means that the sovereign and his/her executive are subject to the law and not above it.

Whereas it sounds like you mean the rule of law is how the law is used by any citizen.

So slightly different meanings. I am saying that Trump appears to be seeking to undermine an investigation of whether he acted lawfully. If he did not, if he obstructed justice, then he ought to step aside. He is seeking to prevent that process from occurring. This is the behaviour of a tyrant. Trump is undermining the elements of the constitution which hold him to account.

If he treats the law this way for one transgression, he may do so for any other. So what he is angling to do with Rosenstein is a breach of the rule of law.

Protecting things like the rule of law is meant to be a higher form of responsibility than partisan foolery. But it is kinda obvious that this Republican party and its followers have no understanding of such things.

So we shall see what happens. But if he fires Rosenstein, he is crossing the rule of law bridge. If he crosses it, and congress lets him, then why should he put up with anything else he doesn't like? Elections? Why have them? etc.

It's the end of your system of laws. In the end, Nixon believed in the system itself. But Trump is a malignant narcissist. Nothing matters but himself.

Good luck! The US needs it.
