OCU wants to do the right thing and be a nice guy. However, he's not what you'd call a deep thinker, and he's drawn some terribly invalid conclusions that continue to result in him doing evil instead of good. OCU believes that there is righteousness in forcing others to do things they don't want to do IF those things further social goals he views as in our best interest. Two hundred years ago, he would have been one of those slave owners who felt that black savages needed his Mastery because they were too stupid to make intelligent decisions by themselves. With slave ownership, there would of course have been whipping, forced breeding, castration, etc... FOR THEIR OWN GOOD. He would have patted himself on the back for that.
That's how he works.
Here's another example:
OCU embraces his church - Catholicism. But when the Church tells him that he is doing Satan's work and will burn for it - as it did a few years ago when I found a Catholic priest on the internet and provided OCU with the priest's opinion that OCU will not go to Heaven after having spent a lifetime supporting pro-abortion political candidates - OCU blew off the guidance. He loves the Church but will not comply with its most important tenets. Thus, he is arrogant and hypocritical.
But if you met him at a picnic or in a bar, you'd think he was a heck of a nice guy. I'll give him that.
