Hi Ribit!

I am having one of those 15 minute periods temporarily out of severe pain.

My new family doc prescribed some meds for helping the nerve pain. Called Gabapentin. 300 mg strength.

He said that these are designed specifically to help with NERVE PAIN running down their leg like I have. Most times that is caused by diabetes. IN my case it is caused bmy a pinched sciatic nerve where it is at the lumbar region of the spine. He said this should help with that searing, and sharp shooting pain.

Hope he's right.

I get some epidural injections starting on the 9th and then again in two weeks.
Back doc trying to help me avoid the surgery.

Not a bad thought if I can work rest of next year.

I have not filed for my medicare yet and was trying to wait until next year anyway. I am a December baby.

If I can put this off until then then medicare and the supplement plan can pay for the spine surgery and the following therapy. I can save about ten grand.

Hopefully it works out. Otherwise I will simply have to bite the bullet and get it done.

The bulging discs, closed up facets with arthritis, and the pinched nerve are not going to be cured any other way.
This other stuff is just a delay for the inevitable..

BUT I like the idea. We shall see.

One day at a time.

My best,

micro...
