The calls over WIFIpart, basically VOIP, is something we could lose again...
Last year, when my phone was stolen in Paris, I was able to make important calls with my iPad, including to AT&T, from the hotel using WIFI, as if my phone was still in my possession. No charges, free phone calls. A couple of weeks later, in Athens, at 9pm, as we’re getting ready to go to sleep for a few hours in order to catch a 6am flight to Paris and then connect to a flight to NY, we get an email from Travelocity that the Alitalia 6am flight was cancelled. Long story short, we never went to sleep, being on the phone with the iPad, via wifi, for almost 5 hours as we tried to not miss that flight to NY, which would have resulted in 10 days to two weeks stay in Athens and some time in Paris, at huge cost, in order to find seats on full planes in mid summer. Those five hours of phone calls were as hectic as could be, and I would have never been able to get it done without VOIP, which pretty much became available after Net Neutrality went into effect.
We ended up leaving that morning on Lufthansa to Munich, then from Munich to Paris, just in time to run to the NY bound American flight gate.
Fk this JACKHOLE Pai and the two otner monkeys who are screwing with consumers.
