December 14, 2017 What Happened... to your foot? Hillary Clinton spotted wearing surgical boot TWO MONTHS after breaking her toe falling down some stairs
â–º Hillary Clinton was in Vancouver promoting her memoir 'WTF Happened??'
By Hannah Parry For Dailymail.com The former Secretary of State was in Vancouver as part of her global book tour to promote her election memoir What Happened.
Clinton strode out onto the stage, in a striking monochrome leather ensemble. But what was most noticeable was the bulky post-op shoe on her right foot - which she has been wearing since she took a tumble and broke ![]()
Hillary Clinton has been spotted still wearing her surgical boot two months after she fell down some stairs in her heels and broke her toe, during a book tour event in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada The 70-year-old had been on the British leg of her book tour, when she was forced to cancel several TV and radio appearances after the injury. Recalling her tumble, she said: 'I was running down the stairs in heels with a cup of coffee in hand, I was talking over my shoulder and my heel caught and I fell backwards. 'I tried to get up and it really hurt. I've broken my toe. I've received excellent care from your excellent health service.' Generally, toe fractures will take between four and six weeks to heal. But almost two months to the day that Clinton took her tumble, and she still appears to be having trouble with her foot. The former Democratic presidential candidate never elaborated on her break, more serious, or complex breaks can take longer to heal. Or, if the toe required surgery to reset it, the operation can delay the healing process. During her campaign trail in 2016, rival Donald Trump often took swings at Clinton's health, and alluded to her alleged issues with stamina at several points during the campaign. She also publicly stumbled during one campaign event, needing help from aides, which she later blamed on overheating. Clinton also famously fell inside her home in 2013 on the eve of testimony before a House Benghazi committee. She ended up appearing sporting special prism lenses, which are used to assist people experiencing double vision. However, the former first lady seemed in rude health when she appeared in front of a sold-out crowd of 5,000 people at the Vancouver Convention Centre on Wednesday, to discuss her book, What Happened, which documents her shock defeat in the 2016 presidential election. She also touched on the rampant sexism in Washington and her joy at Democrat Doug Jones's victory against alleged teenage girl molester Roy Moore in traditionally Republican Alabama the night before. 'As an American I'm concerned, but after last night, maybe a tiny bit less,' she told CBC. She added that the win was evidence that the tide is turning against Trump who had endorsed the Republican candidate. 'People seem to be turning against the Trump philosophy and ideology,' she added. 'So it's a good sign, but it's by no means the end of the story.' Clinton also tackled the sexual harassment scandal and #MeToo campaign. 'The only way we'll get sexism out of politics is to get more women into politics,' she said.
