Some even go so far as to say that Armageddon must be initiated in such a manner that Israel, if it's not actually destroyed, must at least be subjected to a period of war that will take it to the brink of total destruction. So anything that solidifies Israel's control of the area must also be done in a way that does NOT lead to peace. The final conflict must come about, one way or another.
