My friend Rich's response to Trump's tax bill.
The Donald claims he’s G.O.P.
Low taxes and frugality
But how will this bill shrink the debt?
A trillion dollar deficit?
He pandered to the common man,
lunch box heroes, calloused hands.
He eulogized the American Dream
A populist, or so he seemed.
We’ll drain the swamp and build a wall!
Jobs aplenty! Taxes small!
to make America great again.
But this is now and that was then.
The Wall Street Suits are tickled green
by corporate tax cuts, Ways and Means,
at pennies that come trickling down
Their fortunes swell without a sound.
Arctic Wildlife Refuge leasers
Limo liberals, offshore fleecers
Country clubbers, campaign donors
Strip mine moguls, beachfront owners.
The winners toast their private jets
Nantucket beaches, penthouse pets
While Trumps and Kushners count their cash
their voters live on corned beef hash.
And we the losers foot the bill
for cowardice on Capitol Hill
Our take home pay will soon betray
the fecklessness and lying ways
of public servants’ broken trust
Campaign promises turned to dust.
United in their singular quest
to build and feather their own nest.
So spare me Donald your fake news,
pathetic as you sing the blues.
And curse the authors of this bill.
The scheming liars of Capitol Hill.

DO SOMETHING!
