I respectfully disagree. It ain't a disease ... bad behavior is not a disease. I am getting very tired of hearing that alcohol abuse, drug abuse, gambling addictions, sexual addictions, etc. are diseases - THAT is nothing but a cop-out ... a cowardly excuse for someone else's bad personal choices and behavior.
All of us are born with some inherent weaknesses ... it's our calling to not give in to those personal weaknesses, to overcome them, and to live life successfully in spite of them. This disease nonsense is utilized by those who exhibit such bad behavior (and their enablers) as a lame, cowardly excuse for their abject failure at self-control and gladly giving into their intense desire to celebrate and revel in their bad behavior. They know their bad behavior is destructive, but they desperately want to continue to act badly and not be disciplined for it. In fact, they have now pushed their lame, cowardly disease excuse to the absurd point where they want to shame everyone else into acquiescing that their deplorable behavior is somehow "good" and "acceptable."
