Where does it say in the Bible "The Lord helps those, who help themselves"?

. . .

Best Answer: Nowhere in the bible will you find that verse

. . .

The actual quote is "God helps them that help themselves" -Ben Franklin (Poor Richard's Almanack)

. . .

Conservative catholics edition of the new new testament in first popes I think . Just kidding it comes from a old church " wise " tale saying god helps those who help themselves I would think that this was started because people were wondering why god didn't answer the phone and solve their problem for them .

. . .

Any time God did something great for someone, it always required some amount of effort on the part of the receiver or from someone on behalf of the receiver. The direct quote is not in the Bible, but the concept is implied.

Try explaining to me why I should be forced to
'provide' for somebody who refuses to help themself?

Jesus would NEVER say “he who won’t work, won’t eat”.

...ok, that's your premise. Support it!
