Everytime I experience one of the above, I am reminded of a difficult course I took in Graph Theory, for my Masters degree. I ended up getting an A, but the professor, Dr. Bosch, of Bell Labs at the time, had given us a final assignement, no test, and if you got it right, you got an A, no matter what your grade was up to that point. I did get an A, but that was due to previous grades.
No one got the answer right. The assignement took allof one short sentence. I spent a whole weekend, and a whole pencil down to tne eraser, and came up with two full pages of arguments. When I took back the assignment, he had written on top in red “You returned to the original argument”, or something like that, if I remember well. In a few words, I had spent a whole weekend, and after two pages of bullshit, my solution was to come up with tne original problem. A full circle.
In class, that last day, Dr. Bosch took one and one half line of an 8 foot board to solve it. There was total silence and amazement.
To make a long story short, when I read, listen, or experience any cretin, winger, troll, republican who goes into long explanations orrationalizations of their wet dreams, I am reminded of that weekend I wasted trying to come up with something I thought I had a clue about, but was obviously deficient in my reasonings. Way deficient.
Every time I see a couple of long composition friendly cretins waste electrons on that board with rationalizations, Dr. Bosch shows up in the back of my head beating me up with a short pencil sharpened all the way down to its ...eraser.
ERASE, CRETINS, ERASE THAT BULLSHIT!
